THE WELLSMERE LEGACY

A landmark in the Forest Hills section of Boston, Wellsmere Monumental Works has been serving the community since 1926. The operating factory and extensive display yard have been milestones on Washington Street. The quality of our work is unsurpassed. Our founder, Joseph Vozzella, Sr. was internationally known for his craftsmanship and community activism. His work can be seen in cemeteries, churches and buildings throughout the Boston area. Shortly after his passing in 1972 the Boston Public Library commissioned an installation of his work. In the community he was known for his generosity and dedication to his family. His eldest son John has carried on this tradition of quality and community. In fact, in 2004 John was named ‘Man of The year’ by a local community and business organization.

The quality of our memorials is unsurpassed. We combine many of the old world methods and tools with modern design applications to produce unique memorials cherished by families and friends for generations.

Our ability to help and work with families in troubled times has been the foundation of our continued success. This is never more evident than when customers come in and tell stories how their parents and grandparents bought monuments from Wellsmere. And when customers are able to smile when telling stories of doing business with our grandfather or father we know that we have a tradition to maintain for the next generation.
